This month, the Cent team had the fortunate opportunity to preview the soon to be released independent film, ‘Containment’ directed by Neil Mcenery West and starring the likes of Lee Ross, Sheila Reid, Gabriel Senior and Andrew Leung. A thriller with a gripping plot, the film revolves around a group of people escaping from an army of ‘Hazmats’ and an airborne virus.
As the magazine celebrates ‘Air’ as theme of the month, we look into similar films featuring sinister viruses and toxic fumes in the air.

Starring Georgina Sutcliffe and Rita Ramnani, ‘A Dark Reflection’ is a British independent film directed and produced by former British Airways airline captain Tristan Loraine. A factual film based on toxic air present in the cabin air, the plot discusses the issues surrounding Aerotoxic Syndrome. An investigative thriller, the script tells the story of a British journalist uncovering a disturbing succession of mishap cover-ups from back in 1954. A provocative and well-researched film based on actual experiences from the director’s career as a commercial pilot.
Contagion (September 9, 2011)
Released in 2011, this film features a star studded cast. A science fiction medical thriller, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne and Matt Damon, the plot documents the spread of a virus transmitted by fomites. With a multi narrative style, this hyperlink movie was well accepted by critics and received extremely well by the scientists.
