Matthew Town explores in his work a traditional British past-times in adolescent boys and how they are affected by them.

His current exhibition ‘Ballet Boys’ is interesting in that Ballet has been chosen as a ‘traditional’ British past-time for these adolescent boys, moreover when other sports he has previously documented include boxing and hunting.

The exhibition challenges the viewer to question their own perception of these boys training to dance and also to consider the physical affect it has at such a transitional stage of their life. The exhibition is on until 6 June 2013 at Exposure Gallery.
