Pure: Water X Art

Water is life! We do not only need it to survive, but also many artists feel the thirst to create art inspired by water or by using the world’s purest fluid for their creative process.

German creative Markus Reugel only needs colours, water and a camera to astound us. To be precise, Reugel’s passion is macro and highspeed photography which results in incredible art works showing moments that are invisible to the eye.

Unquestionably, the ocean is mysterious and incredibly fascinating. What is happening at the bottom of the sea? Well, the murder is out thanks to Austrian art photographer Andreas Franke!
Franke created an underwater art exhibition on a former Air Force missile tracking ship sunk in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. After taking photos of the wreck, Franke digitally added other elements to the images to create his art.

“With my photographs of The Sinking World, I want to pull the spectators into unreal and strange worlds. Ordinary scenes of the past play within a fictional space and become dreamworlds you can get lost in or you can identify with”.

Moving on to another creative way that involves water, creating impressive ice sculptures does not only demand a lot of tact, but also strength and precision.

From delicate figures, incredible castles to fantasy creatures, a normal ice block can be transformed into nearly anything.
Basically, there is no limit to the imagination and these artists clearly prove this!
