Sexuality and human bonds have been trivialised and monetised in order to fund the capitalist paradigm but who are we to judge what you do in fiery London? Poetry Brothel London ‘Dangerous Liaisons  summons you to the heart of the decadent metropolis, on Saturday, May 27 at 8 PM to what used to be an actual brothel, to the flashy dreaminess of neon lights, to the sticky limbs of SOHO , to the fiery translucence of this spectacular venue: THE LIGHTS OF SOHO. Explore and rejoice in the emotional insanity of our 21st century Dangerous Liaisons.

The Poetry Brothel is a unique and immersive poetry event that takes poetry away from classrooms, lecture halls and Ivory towers and places it in the lush, radiant and fiery interiors of a bordello. Based on the concept of the fin-de-siecle bordellos in New Orleans and Paris, many of which functioned as safe havens for fledgling, avant-garde artists, The Poetry Brothel presents a rotating cast of “poetry whores” each operating within a carefully constructed character. For a small fee, you can purchase a piece of the “whore’s” poetical spirit and absorb yourself in the true nature of one-on-one poetry readings in back rooms and other secret and intimate spaces.
