TRIM; The Crown You Never Take Off

Surviving winter means bundling up in jumpers, scarves and coats. Heads covered to stop the frost biting your ears.  But as the sun shows its face in what seems like a mild end to the winter, it feels like we can expose a little of what has been hidden for a long while.  One of the first things we can shed is the hat and we can expose our hair. For both men and women, hair can be a crowning glory and when everything else is covered up, we can still have our hair as a weapon in the fight to be noticed.

There are many products currently on the market to help you achieve healthy, shiny hair, so whether you have stick straight tresses or kinky curly locks, a good shampoo and conditioner is key.  Have a look here at a few brands that stood out, along with some of what they consider to be a key product from their ranges that give another facet to hair care.

Susanne Kaufmann

Dedicated to being “consistently effective – uncompromisingly natural,” Susanne Kaufmann’s namesake brand first began releasing products in 2003. They were only intended for her family’s hotel spa at first, but they became so popular among guests that, soon, they were world-renowned.

Kaufmann grew up in the Austrian Alps’ Bregenzerwald valley, where people visit all four seasons of the year for its views and ‘restorative powers.’ Susanne Kaufmann ensures that every ounce of the ingredients are used to their fullest potential.  This cruelty-free brand is also environmentally-friendly, so the majority of their packages are easily recyclable or made from recycled materials.

Long & Strong Shampoo and conditioner by Trevor Sorbie

The Long & Strong regime is a great new range, perfect for mid-long hair It is vegan, cruelty-free and with 93% natural ingredients, it also has natural sugars which smooth, condition and detangle creating glossy healthy-looking hair. SLS & Sodium Chloride free.

This is very targeted at certain lengths which means if you have that specific hair type you are on to a winner.  Its made in the UK which is pleasing and it’s free from nasties which is what we all want in this day and age. The brand suggests the following:-

When you’re washing your hair always apply shampoo following the direction of hair growth. This will stop the hair from becoming tangled, smooth the cuticle and allow the product to travel down the hair shaft for best results. Always shampoo, then rinse and repeat for thoroughly cleansed hair. Spread Long Hair Shampoo evenly through wet hair. Lather, rinse thoroughly and repeat. Always apply Long Hair Conditioner to mid-lengths and ends after shampooing – this ensures the cuticle is closed to give maximum shine and protect the hair from exposure to environmental damage.
