100% Design: Lighten Up Your Day
By Pascal Ebner
At this year’s 100% Design exhibition at Earl’s Court, fans of creating and designing got to see truly inspiring ideas from all over the world. If you have seen our previous posts – get ready to gaze upon our favourites of this year’s lighting designs. More information can be found at the bottom of this article.
Desinature presents the nature-inspired Lily Lampshades, designed by Etienne Esmenjaud, who is also the founder of the UK-based design collective. The reversible lampshade turns your interiors into a flowery lounge with petals that can be re-assembled at any time – giving you the opportunity to create your very own light-flower. Depending on whether you want a subtle light or a bright shine – you can adjust the colors to be on the inside or the outside.
Beach Ball Shades by TOBYhouse
Next up TOBYhouse present their summery inspired BeachBall Shades – with the beach ball shaped lampshades you can turn your living space into a beach resort or simply create a relaxing summer sun atmosphere. The outside is created with real beach balls, while the inside is smooth opaque and white.
Yet another flower inspired design is 7Gods Christa Pendant presented by 7Gods, which is handmade and exclusive to Heal’s – with a timeless design and create a big impact of light when all of the lights are clustered together. See more inspiring lamps and design over at the official website.
Finally we’d like to show you the newest design piece of PRECIOSA Lighting, who combined the latest technology and innovative ideas to create a light fixture, which seems to need no electricity and can’t get dusty. Printed Circuit boards replaced the classical electrical supply and features computer-controlled colour changes – for those who want to be diverse.
