A Clean, Cared for Head
By Jo Phillips
Developing safe, sustainable, effective products and bringing them to market is at the very core of the brand Innersense, it’s at the head and the heart of the brand if you like. The organic hair care company started out with this mission and didn’t have to do what so many are now trying to do, that is to clean up their act. Clean, pure and beautiful are three words that they stand for. Meet their latest launch, the harmonic treatment oil, here in our news story A Clean, Cared for Head.
Whether it be the head of the company the head of the team or the head on top of your body, all need love, respect and beauty. These worldly values sit deep within the haircare brand Innersense so if you want to use products that are made with clean chemistry, a company with radical transparency and a commitment to the environment, then look no further than them.
Their latest product to arrive in the UK, has been around in their home country for a while but is new for us Brits
Meet Harmonic Treatment Oil. The wonderful scalp and hair treatment oil rich in Tamanu Oil.
Tamanu oil is extracted from seeds that grow on a tropical evergreen called a Tamanu Nut Tree. Tamanu oil and other parts of the Tamanu Nut Tree have been used medicinally for hundreds of years by certain Asian, African, and Pacific Island cultures. Over time there have been many anecdotal stories about the uses of tamanu oil for skin and hair and now it is far more readily available. The Innersense Harmonic Treatment Oil is built very much around this majestic nut.
Also included in the treatment oil is Hazel Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Orange Flower Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Rosemary Essential oil. Sounds almost good enough to eat, which we don’t suggest, but we have heard that this hair oil can, in fact, be used on other parts of the body that may be dry and tired, so rub a little in for an instant boost and a bit of self-care.
If you are using it for your head then on lightly wet hair, pump two to three pumps of the oil onto your hands and apply directly to hair from top to tip evenly.
Alternatively, massage your scalp with it for three to five minutes allowing the oil to penetrate into the scalp, and then rinse off after.
The Tamanu oil in the heart of the treatment had many benefits as the oil exhibited high antibacterial and wound-healing activity. Numerous biological studies have shown that Tamanu Oil has wound-healing and skin regeneration properties. It’s been shown to promote cell proliferation and the production of certain components of your skin including collagen and glycosaminoglycan (all important in the healing of scars).
