A Royal Collaboration
By Jo Phillips
British designer Julian Macdonald has collaborated with the English National Ballet and Swarvoski to create ten bespoke costumes for gala performances at the Queen’s summer Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace.
From Friday 12th July until Sunday 14th July, the dazzling festival will be open to the public. Featuring a specially commisioned piece ‘Tempus’ by the English National Ballet, choreographed by George Williamson to a new score by Christopher Mayo, the spectacle pays tribute to Her Royal Majesty and the remarkable era of change during her 60 year reign.
Macdonald has created five male and five female costumes, all embellished with over 20,000 crystals per costume.
