Alexander McQueen – AW21 Menswear
By Rebecca McNelly-Tilford
Within the menswear collection for A/W21 Alexander McQueen continue “A continued focus on silhouette. Bold volumes and clean lines. Saturated colour and papercut prints. Echoes of Alexander McQueen womenswear run throughout”.
See the rounded edges sit against straight sharp tailored lines which echos the very DNA of the brand.
A colour palette of grey, denim, black, white and khaki are offset with flashes of bold red and vibrant blue with touches of patterns and motifs echoed from womenswear. Utility meets casual via strick tailoring bringing clean-cut yet emotive modernity.
New logo for the brand graffiti design influence. The menswear and womenswear collections influence each other, with similarities such as motifs, combing two garments together to create hybrids looks as well as volume and tailoring.
Knitwear is a key element, some features of the collection use technical elements to create panelling and stitching details as well as other elements to create volume and structure.
