Anarchy: Black Beauty
By Jo Phillips
Fashion week is undoubtedly a glamorous affair with one glitzy event after another. It is easy to put traffic-stopping frocks on to attract the adoration of streetstyle photographers, but back-to-back schedules demanding our dazzling appearances can often wear us out, facially giving away way too much than it should. To keep us going and glowing during London Fashion Week this September, we discovered three beautiful products – all of which happened to be bottled or jarred in sleek black containers. These black beauties share something remarkable in common: through each of their own revolutionary ways, they inhibit or rebel against bad skin disasters by making “how to be beautiful” as easy as ABC.
London-based ARgENTUM Apothecary is a unique and unisex brand. The star amongst is range is a patented anti-age cream crowned la potion infinie. Silver Hydrosol and DNA HP are the notable active ingredients that power this profound potion. While Silver Hydrosol regulates skin flora with its natural anti-bacterial properties, DNA HP promotes cell regeneration. Contained in a bespoke violet glass jar and lid, which blocks the complete spectrum of visible light with the exception of the violet light prolonging life span and the potency of the product, this natural restorative cream with the house’s signature scent developed by perfumer Delphine Thierry is impossible to resist.
Antonia Burrell’s Forest Dew Skin Conditioner

Antonia Burrell’s formulae combine natural, effective, plant-based ingredients, which means her range could be used even by people with sensitive and easily irritated skin. A new addition to Illamasqua‘s family of creative and cool products since this April, Hydra Veil has been continuously rising up the ranks to become the brand’s top selling product. Everyone of us has had a bad skin day at one point or another, which makes applying foundations for faux perfect skin effect a highly-pigmented nightmare. Like a saviour of bad skin, this is exactly where Hydra Veil comes in. Acting both as a hydrator and primer, Hydra Veil contains an anti-oxident derived from microalgae called Astaxanthin, which increases and improves the skin’s peak hydration level; while Acmella Oleracea extract actively smooths the skin. The self-levelling, futuristic, clear gel ultimately enhances Illamasqua’s longwear colour-intense make-up leaving skin instantly rehydrated, smooth, and radiant.
Keep your eyes peeled for more on Illamasqua on .Cent, as the brand’s Creative Director Alex Box guest-edits our upcoming Fashion Special entitled The Artist Issue.
