Ballantine’s Whisky
By Jo Phillips
September has already made its grand entrance, bringing blissful weather alongside it. Within a blink of an eye, we are already half way through the month. Being the first of the Autumnal seasons, we start to think of our Autumn/Winter wardrobe, a warm fire place and chai latte’s with cinnamon. Bearing that in mind, of course, we can’t forget the whisky.
Ballantine’s Hard Fired whisky has launched now in to duty free stores worldwide. A perfect essential to purchase, either coming back from your summer break aboard, or in the airport on the way to your family winter get away. The new formula of the whisky uses a process called ‘Hard Firing’, which uses fire to double char the barrels before resting the whisky, which releases a sweet and smoky flavour.
The special technique of Hard Firing unlocks a distinctive taste in this whisky that is very smooth. The transformative power of fire results in a characterful and uniquely balanced whisky.
The Nose: sweet ripe fruits, vanilla, butterscotch toffee and a gentle wisp of bonfire smoke.

Colour: Bright Amber gold.
