Bold: Taste the Future
By Jo Phillips
Japanese food chain YO!Sushi invited .Cent magazine to their restaurant on Poland street to be one of the first people to taste the future: the new YO!Burger.
This bold addition to YO!Sushi’s menu based on fresh Japanese food is made of rice but not as you know it – in YO!Burgers, rice is toasted and formed into a bap shape with chicken, prawn, salmon, tilapia or tofu as filling choices, each prepared with a different twist.
Chicken burger is seasoned with teriyaki sauce and served on a bed of lettuce with red onion, mayo, pineapple and sesame seeds. The prawn YO!Burger consists of a prawn cutlet on a white cabbage seasoned with a curry mayonnaise and diced beni shoga. Another burger from the fish department, salmon, arrives on a bed of lettuce with kimchi pickled vegetables and seasoned with mayo. Tilapia burger is unusually served with a slice of cheese topped with wakame tartar sauce. There is even a vegetarian option with tofu and avocado on a bed of fresh cress.
To celebrate the launch of this new, healthier option for all burgers lovers (with calorie count of burgers as low as 312 for salmon to 423 for tofu) YO!Sushi invited us to a night of good food and truly Japanese fun with a photobooth, wigs, Japanese Elvis and, of course, tasty burgers!
The YO!Burgers served with daikon slaw and misotchup are £8 each and will be available in YO!Sushi restaurants nationwide from 11th June.
