Empowering Women Through Design
By Jo Phillips
There are many ways to lend a helping hand. For a jewellery company, it can also be a chance to combine style with a deeper purpose. The Swedish company Edblad’s commitment to its fellow human beings is a fine example of this. Through its initiative – called Helping Hand – the company combines its passion for design with meaningful change. Helping Hand: A Decade of Impact
For ten years, Edblad’s Helping Hand project has turned creativity into compassion. The initiative began with a simple idea: design that gives back. Every piece of jewellery is a tribute to meaningful change, with a portion of sales supporting impactful causes.
Over the years, this effort has grown into something extraordinary. Helping Hand has raised over SEK 2.75 million for a variety of organisations. Edblad’s Helping Hand initiative tackles a range of important issues, all for a better world.
These projects demonstrate Edblad’s dedication to driving meaningful change through Helping Hand:
- Kvinna till Kvinna: Supporting gender equality and women’s rights globally. Edblad has donated over SEK 87,000 to this cause, empowering women in over 20 countries.
- Maskrosbarn (Dandelion Children): Aiding children from difficult home environments. Contributions helped provide support and activities, raising almost SEK 150,000.
- Cancerfonden: Partnering to combat breast cancer. Special jewellery designs raised SEK 30,000 to support awareness and treatment initiatives.
- Regnbågsfonden (Rainbow Fund): Advocating for the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide. Donations from the Rainbow jewellery collection totaled SEK 30,000.
- Roks Aurora Fund: Supporting women and children affected by violence. Over SEK 160,000 was raised in 2019 for this critical work.
- Plan International Sweden: Promoting education and opportunities for girls through the “Believe in Her” necklace. SEK 50 from each necklace sale went directly to their Agenda for Girls program.
- Environmental Causes: Partnered with organisations like Keep Sweden Clean and the Nature Conservation Association to support sustainability initiatives.
Edblad’s efforts aren’t one-time gestures – Helping Hand prioritises long-term partnerships. By working with carefully chosen organisations, they ensure that their support creates lasting change.
Sustainability and Scandinavian Elegance
Edblad embodies the harmony of Scandinavian design and sustainability. Their creations are a balance of simplicity and sophistication. Simply speaking, they make timeless pieces that are accessible to everybody. Their design philosophy isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about values.
The Edblad company has a strict commitment to sustainability. They adhere to strict environmental standards, including REACH compliance, to ensure safe and responsible production. Their materials are chosen with care, in order to be able to combine beauty with eco-consciousness.
Accessibility is equally important. Edblad believes that good design should be within reach. Their collections offer high-quality women’s jewellery at an attractive price, without compromising on ethics or style. This dedication to thoughtful design has put the company in a good position in the field of sustainability. Their approach proves that elegance and responsibility can coexist to create a legacy of conscious creativity.
Supporting Women Through Design
Edblad’s jewellery includes collections like Rainbow and Together that are designed with a purpose. It’s the purpose of combining elegance with empowerment and of writing the company’s own chapters in a story of sisterhood, resilience and strength.
In recent years, Edblad’s collaboration with Kvinna till Kvinna – which literally translates to Women to Women – has been a commitment to shared values. Both believe in creating tangible change for women around the world. It is a partnership that highlights the power of solidarity and action.
The Kvinna till Kvinna organisation is active in over 20 countries and works for women’s human rights. Their work defends against violence, supports education and promotes economic empowerment. They focus on creating opportunities for women to flourish in their communities.
Central to their mission is Femdefenders. These are women who risk everything to stand up for gender equality and peace. Edblad’s support helps amplify their voices and provides critical resources. Together, they are fighting for a world where women are safe, heard and empowered.
A portion of the proceeds from Edblad’s Helping Hand jewellery goes directly to Kvinna till Kvinna. It supports initiatives that defend women’s rights and amplify their voices. Wearing this jewellery is a way of standing in solidarity. Edblad ensures that style can be a force for change, a force that transforms beauty into action.
A Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
Edblad’s partnership with Kvinna till Kvinna reflects a shared mission: empowering women. This collaboration goes beyond financial support. It’s about creating a ripple effect of change, one step at a time.
Customers play a crucial role. Each jewellery purchase carries a meaning, with its proceeds supporting initiatives that defend women’s rights. The pieces are more than accessories – they’re symbols of solidarity and action.
Edblad also encourages direct involvement. Through campaigns and donation options, customers can contribute even further. This connection between brand, cause and community strengthens the impact.
By focusing on long-term goals, Edblad ensures their efforts lead to sustainable change. Their commitment to women’s empowerment is woven into every aspect of their work, creating a bond that unites jewellery design with purpose.
