Fantasy: Shall we put some tea in our eye cream anyone…
By Jo Phillips
Tea. We love tea here at .Cent. Most people love tea. I like mine with milk usually – skimmed and stronger than a builder, and after 4pm I tend to go for Camomile or Peppermint but I digress… Turns out you can now ingest it in an entirely different way. Through skincare. It was only a matter of time really.
American born skincare brand Fresh cosmetics has introduced a whole new range of anti-ageing products inspired by the ancient “Immortal Health Elixir” Kombucha, (which is made with black tea ferment). Black Tea ferment is the main ingredient within the range for its advanced antioxidant properties, helping to defend the skin against free radicals (which are one of the main causes of wrinkles), whilst boosting the radiance and elasticity of the skin.
The Age Delay range from Fresh comprises an eye concentrate, a skin perfecting mask, re-texturising cream and skin serum each aimed at preventing the ageing process by using ancient beauty rituals alive by combining them with modern technology to create at home skincare products. Take a look at their video below:

The UK is lucky enough to have a standalone site for Fresh for those of you keen to peruse what other natural ingredients can be found in the rest of the skincare offering – in London’s Marylebone (020 7486 4100), but if you still prefer to take your tea in the old fashioned way, yet would still like an fuss free anti-ageing regime for your skin, no problem…
Multi-award winning skin supplement Perfectil from Vitabiotics has just launched their Perfectil Platinum range (containing Green Tea extract amongst a whole host of other vitamins and minerals) so you can literally just pop 2 pills each day with water, as part of your usual routine.
Nutrition expert Anita Ellis, is a firm advocate of the entire Perfectil range for she believes we should treat our skin from within. She says “To help protect against premature ageing of the skin, I always ensure that my clients’ antioxidant intakes are high. Vitabiotics Perfectil Platinum supplies a high quality rich supply of antioxidant rich Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPCs). These have the greatest antioxidant effects against free radical damage (those pesky wrinkle causers again). Treating the skin from the inside by taking Perfectil Platinum regularly, supplies the perfect balance of vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy body and skin which all work in synergy to defy ageing and keep the skin looking firmer, soft and youthful.”
The “Platinum” version of Perfectil has a specialist “time defy” formula which aims to provide all the nutrients (including high-grade marine collagen, pine bark extract, black currant seed oil, lycopene and alpha-lipoic acid and then some!) for your skin to keep producing collagen, and renewing and protecting its cells all at the same time.
Blimey, I do need a cuppa after that little lot.
