Fantasy: When Fashionistas go into Fragrance
By Jo Phillips
Today sees the official UK launch of fashion designer Tory Burch’s first fragrance collection, featuring exclusively into Harrods.
The olfactory interpretation of her fashion collections includes the ‘Tory Burch Eau de Parfum’ as well as a ‘Solid Perfume Pendant Necklace.’ Layers of peony and tuberose blend with crisp grapefruit and citrus notes, with a base of earthy vetiver. The delicate glass bottles feature Burch’s signature intricate gold fretwork at the bottle top which are delightful in themselves.
In the designer’s own words, [sic] “fragrance is part of my personal history; my parents each had their favorite scents that are tied to my memories. There’s a brightness to the scent when you first smell it…”
We at .Cent have had the opportunity to smell the eponymous scent, and it really is something to brighten up your day/week/month. (delete as necessary, it is January.)
*Spoiler Alert* Turns out Tory is not the only fashion designer to go into fragrance this year, as another sartorial expert is turning their hand to the world of parfum. Here’s a clue below…
Yes, the maestro of fashion himself, Karl Lagerfeld, will indeed be branching out into a new direction this spring with the arrival of Karl Lagerfeld’s fragrance for men and for women in March. Watch this space for more #KarlParfums news as and when we get hold of it…
