Craig Redman, is one half of the design duo Craig & Karl but is also known under the name Darcel Disappoints. In his blog, Redman’s most celebrated creation is Darcel, an egg-shaped cyclops, whose daily New York life is documented, highlighting a slightly jaded city-dwelling lifestyle.
Redman’s blog has been utilised for many collaborations including Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, IKEA, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel, to name but a few. This avatar is over a decade old, and the humorous and all-too-relatable character caught the attention of Karl in 2012 when Redman exhibited at the iconic Parisian store, Colette. It has now come to life this season with a capsule collection.
Karl Lagerfeld began his career in fashion in the 1950s, working for some of the most important fashion houses including Balmain, Patou, and Chloé before joining Chanel in 1983.
Totally instrumental in revitalizing the House of Chanel and helping it regain its position as one of the top fashion houses in the world. He was also the creative director of the Italian fur and leather goods fashion house Fendi, as well as his own eponymous fashion label. Throughout his career, he collaborated on a variety of fashion and art-related projects.
Instantly recognisable, with his dark sunglasses, sharp suit and pony-tailed silver/white hair he was considered a fashion genius. Yet his humour was ever-present and showed up often in the work for his namesake label.

These two icons came together, one from the digital world and one from the physical one to bring us a fun and adorable collaborative collection. It is expected for a brand like Karl Lagerfeld to have fun and play around with a humourous take on the designer himself. Irreverent yet stylish, fun and desirable this is a clever collaboration.

Giving us a relaxed sophistication, this collection features gender-neutral sweaters, accessories, premium denim and t-shirts. The strong colour palette and artistic twist make this street-style silhouette collection joyful.
The denim bomber jacket brings a fun but discreet Karl Cyclops, embossed in self-colour which can be paired with T-shirts or sweatshirts with small or large carton images.
Mix and match your style, whether it is bold colours or the nylon shopper bag, and the cross-body mini. From jeans to caps, buckets hats to slouchy joggers, the lifestyle collection offers both women’s and menswear.
“It was very much a collaborative process between myself and the Karl Lagerfeld team. Projects with this kind of mutual respect always turn out the best”
