Inspired by August hot days and womanhood Grains de Verre’s launches its SS25 collection ‘August Riviera’. Channeling the summer essence this collection offers pieces that shine with every ray of sun to compliment beachwear outfits.
“We’ve all seen those women who, even among the unbearable summer heat, carry that French Riviera vibe, adorning themselves with bright accessories. They bewitch you with their elegance. They are the epitome of grace and sophistication”
Rita Molchanova – Grains de Verre’s designer
Dior inaugurated a pop-up store at Harrods from the 31st of July until the 25th of August. Featuring the Dior AW 24/25 conceived by Maria Grazia Chiuri reflecting the energy of the 60s and paying tribute to the Miss Dior line.
The ‘Miss Dior’ logo can be seen in every piece in different sizes and styles from bold graffiti to a printed oversize. Marking the 175th anniversary of the emblematic Brompton Road building, there are 175 exclusive, limited and numbered edition Miss Dior and Dior Book Tote models to be discovered in the boutique. This amazing event showcases the inspiring cultural dialogue between London and Dior.
The installation STITCH! by Meta Struycken at the EENWERK Gallery in Amsterdam is open until the 31st of August. These garments in a mini scale translate hints such as Repair, Revive and Reuse, with a important reminder of cherishing clothes rather than throwing them away.
“Garments should no longer be regarded as fleeting passersby, but as part of our lives.” “Traditional handcraft techniques offer the opportunity to look back, but at the same time to take a step forward and to define new values that are about awareness, care, nuturing, transparency, quality, coherence and genuine sustainability.”
Meta Struycken
J’amemme presents their Resort’25 collection vol.2, called ‘Escape to the Sea’. Inspired by the deep symbolism of the ocean this collection complements the summer line for a season of effortless style and seaside charm.
“We began experimenting with our own hardware, particularly jewelry accessories crafted from ceramics. The symbolism of fish, which is deeply intertwined with water – the source of life – inspired us to create hardware that reflects the sea’s depth and mystery.”
Julie Yarmoliuk, J’amemme’s designer
Carousel Jewels introduce the August birthstone ‘Peridot’. Also known as ‘the Evening Emerald’, this stone is said to possess healing properties bringing peace, health and rest whilst offering protection.
DAVID KOMA just launched ‘THE APEX BAG’. This new addition to the handbag collection comes in a series of metallic colours such as gold, silver, orange and green. ‘THE APEX’ is a sculptural metal clutch evoking the shape of the thorn of a rose or a shark’s fin.
Louis Vuitton and Alex Israel present a new collaboration around the Cologne Perfumes collection, the ‘Ocean BLVD’ sculpture. Ocean BLVD integrates each cologne in a wildly creative street scene transmitting the contemporary form of Californian architecture, referencing his chromatic palette: Pacific Chill, On the Beach, City of Stars, California Dream and Afternoon Swim. This two-meter-long sculpture is made to order, celebrating Louis Vuitton’s noble materials such as natural beige leather, Taiga leather and taurillon leather. It’s a scent journey along the California coast, with its lights, extravagances, and softness.
Diptyque unveils their Summer Decoration Collection paying tribute to the traveling spirit. Opening the window to a world of dreams, this collection stimulates the dialogue between the domestic interior and the great outdoors. These limited edition decorative objects are inspired by its fundamental principles: the aesthetic Mediterranean palette, the poetry of flowers and travel in all its forms, be they real or dreamed.
Tyler Mitchell, acclaimed artist, photographer and filmmaker, will receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2024 presented by Pandora.
“Receiving the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator is an honour that resonates deeply with me. It affirms the necessity and power of storytelling through the beautiful marriage of image making and fashion. And it affirms the importance of creating spaces where new voices and visions can flourish. This award is a reminder that fashion is not just about what we wear, but about how we see ourselves and the world. I am humbled and grateful to the British Fashion Council for this recognition, and I share it with all those who inspire and support me on this journey.”
