Sparkle Ever After
By Bella Pallett
The light never fades when you lose a loved someone, and in the heart of London’s Mayfair lies an illuminated rose garden of remembrance where you have the opportunity to come and remember ones gone in physicality but not in spirit. Filled with personal dedications, the idea of the garden was inspired in memory of the late production designer and art director Michael Howells who designed the sets for fashion theatre and films including the film Ever After. After his death, his friends wanted to find a way to pay tribute to all those loved ones forever gone and create something inclusive and inviting for all, and so they decided to create the Ever After Garden, find out more in Sparkle Ever After.
You are invited to come and remember a loved one in Grosvenor Square (London) from the 1st to the 23rd of December where you can add your personal dedication to the space, the Ever After Garden. To make the occasion even more special, over 25000 illuminated white roses will glow and help raise funds to help support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
By remembering and celebrating the lives of our loved ones, the garden creates time to reflect whilst also helping to support a great cause the Royal Marsden’s Cancer Charity. It provides ground-breaking research which improves the lives of cancer patients around the world, making the Ever After Garden even more meaningful.
The garden is open daily from 12 pm to 8 pm and entry is free with the opportunity to donate and dedicate a rose of remembrance for a loved one as you have the chance to pause, reflect and commemorate.
Take a moment to reflect and remember the life of one of your lost loves, surrounded by the glow of white roses all donated to help support a great cause.
If you are not able to visit in person, know that you can also make a dedication online Here. Your dedication will be then added to one of the illuminated roses in the Garden.
The Ever After Garden was initially inspired by the Light Rose Garden, an exhibition first launched in 2014 by the Korean creative group PANCOMMUNICATION at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, Korea. Becoming instantly iconic and within the period of a month drew more than 6 million visitors. The Light Rose Garden started its world tour in Hong Kong in February 2016 to brighten the world with the warm and positive glow of light roses.
As we engage in this holiday season, many of us having lost loved ones, some in the horrific events of a world pandemic or to other illnesses, we need for our own Sainty to have time to reflect.
This Ever After Garden is a reflective tranquil haven in the heart of Mayfair (London) during this festive season, where everyone everywhere can honour and remember treasured friends and family they have lost.
