Sharp: It’s all about the finish

A whole crop of lovely lip items have recently winged their way into our collective consciousness, and it’s only fair that we share our newfound knowledge of the best of the bunch with you, our lovely readers.

Each season the beauty brands up the ante with new developments in texture and finishes, and these three launches will definitely whet your appetite with their potent pigments and even sharper details in the end results on your lips.  One of our favourite high street brands Bourjois, has certainly pulled it out of the bag this spring with the launch of their gorgeous “Rouge Edition Velvet” collection. (Be quick for a waiting list ensues – this is HOW good they are!)

Containing a superb pigment and velvety finish with a promise of lasting some 24 hours, there are 8 lovely colours to choose from with my favourite being “Hot Pepper – 03.”  Having tested out myself, they don’t feel like they’ve dried out my lips at all which is sometimes a problem with Matte lip products so it’s even more of a thumbs up.

Although, you could always counteract any dryness with this delicious new balm for lips (and eyes, and face, and skin, AND cuticles!) from Aerin.  Carefully crafted with an extract from over 350 rose petals, this pure flower-based balm immediately soothes and deeply moisturises.  The packaging alone had us swooning and almost wishing for super dry skin…

To put our feet firmly back on the ground, leaders of fashion forward beauty, MAC has an extremely exciting product launch coming ahead; Patent Polish Lip Pencils.  These look set to be a new “magic wand for lips” resulting in incredible shine in just one swipe, and already have the Charlotte Tilbury seal of approval…  If their seductive campaign image is anything to go by, we’re all in for a shiny treat.  .Cent has been told there are 12 shades in the limited edition launch coming the way of our stores, and I cannot wait.
