Mirror: Architectural Mirrored Buildings
By Jo Phillips
Interested in seeing buildings which are out of the ordinary? Then get Mirrored up with some of these…
This six-sided building covered in mirrors is by Farshid Moussavi. It is the new home for the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland in Ohio. The four-story building features faceted walls clad in mirrored black stainless steel and replaces the museum’s former address in the loft of an old playhouse complex.
Another fabulous building is the Victoria and Albert Museum Daylit Pyramid by a finalist designer called Rex. It is a mirrored inverted pyramid, inspired by the Scottish Bluebell. Fabulous!
If that isn’t creative enough, check out the up-coming Dutch studio MVRDV winning design to create a bowl-shaped art depot for the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam with a mirrored exterior and a rooftop sculpture garden. This is without doubt one of the most creative designs that we’ve seen in a while!
