Perfume company Jo Malone London has long celebrated the beloved English pear with its much loved and worn fruity-floral fragrance, English Pear & Freesia. Think just-ripe pears wrapped in a bouquet of bright, white freesias. Delicious and now a brand classic.

Be excited, however, their iconic fragrance has now been made into a special-edition cologne with a fluted bottle design. It opens with mellow-scented fruit freshness, with the Fresia accord bringing a cool floral to the heart whilst finishing off with deep Wood and Earthy notes of Patchouli in the base.

We know the juicy pear brings with it, yes fruit, but also ever so soft green notes to the potion but what about sweet pea? What does this most generous of flowers bring with her visual abundance in the way of scent?

Well, she is a flower, but a little multi-faceted it’s fair to say. Think of a floral sweetness of say Orange Blossom alongside a vegetal greenness and a hint of powdery Rose and you get the idea. So a fresh floral rather than a heady one. A perfect light soft note to accompany the juicy Pear.

So the scent opens with the accord of mellow scented fruit, fresh and ripe, with a delicious juicy facet. Its heart is a soft floral note fresh from the garden and it cascades into a finale of clean powdery facets of musk the envelopes.
