The sun heals us, the colours brighten our souls, but what if we could catch this magical colourful spirit? What If we had this palette to carry around with us and to indulge in this paintbox?
Well, we are in luck this season Chanel‘s make-up collection for Summer 2024 brings all the glorious colours of the garden to our faces.
This season, Ammy Drammeh, Global Makeup Creative Partner and member of the COMÉTES COLLECTIVE, explores her magical colourful garden and infuses them into a playful limited edition set of divine goodies in the Jardin Imaginaire Summer 2024 limited edition collection. This is a collection that opens up colour to all of us.
Starting there is a seasonal add to the Stylo Ombre Et Contour eye shadow and liner pens. Seven new limited edition colours have been brought, that reflect the tonal range of a summer garden in all her splendour. These are not colours to be shy with, but there are some clever elements with these.
Firstly, the colours are all buildable, so they can be worn as a wash of each tone or built upon for stronger and fuller expression; a gentle stroke; easily buildable.
But secondly, and a very clever add in the shimmer built into most of the palette. A light shimmer that reflects and brings warmth to the face; an added summery modern glow.
“They provide the opportunity to feel confident and have fun with colours that one might not dare to wear on an everyday basis.”
Ammy Drammeh
Next up are the two paints in Baume Essentiel, the moisturising highlighting balm that brings a subtle summer glow to the face. Use it for a glimmering effect but also use it to aid sculpting, again build it for your sophisticated yet natural finish.
It is designed for easy use on the face, lips and eyes. The two new tones are Moonlight Kiss in a luminous rose gold and Solar Glow in a coppery bronze. Both can be used for any skin tone as highlighters and contouring for a targeted or all-over glow.
For check colours look no further than Creation Blush and Highlighter Duo from the Jardin Imaginaire collection. An added level of shimmer complete with summer tone mate blush; a double delight.
One matte check shade with a separate highlighter to add as little or as much shimmer as you wish.
First comes a Gold Peach combo. The natural matte peach tone is such a great all-rounder when the sun is at her most beautiful but add dimension with the golden glowing powder. The coral-golden duo brings summer harmony to the skin of any complexion.
For a reference to the flowers like dahlias in Ammy’s fantasy garden comes the second duo palette. Two tones of rich pinks from a berry tone to a shimmer baby pink in a pearlescent half moon. Again the matte fuchsia pink suits all complexions really well and the shimmer adds dimension and glow.
Adding to the fairytale the compacts are both embossed with a fantasy flower complete with the Chanel signature Double-C. A fairytale flower that comes to life on the cheek.
Fine and silky, the powder is easy to apply and comes in a travel-friendly compact that you can take anywhere, for touch-ups throughout the day.
Now if you are feeling that you are worried about wearing even the lightest shimmer of colour on your skin Chanel’s final add-on this summer is three delicious tones of nail polish. Le Vernis brings Rêveuse Songe D’Étè and Faun to this magical garden.
Rêveuse is a rich and silky greeny-khaki with an almost petrol-on-oil-like shimmer. Inspired by insects in a fantasy garden it is as luxurious as gold itself.
Moving on the the multi-use colour Songe D’Étè, this dreamy pearlescent summer soft pink can be worn as a top coat bringing a new warm dimension to any colour or worn on its own as a soft summer touch.
Final Faun is a warming rich mid-tone brown again perfect for all skin tones. After all no garden is complete without the brown of trees to provide summer shade.
This collection comes from the mind’s eye, and a fantasy garden of Ammy Drammeh, Global Makeup Creative Partner and member of the Comètes Collective.
Her work is seen in the best editorial features and has seen her reach the faces of Adwoa Aboah, Debra Shaw and Harry Styles. But her understanding of skin tones shows her knowledge and craft at its best in this collection. For many wearing colour directly on the face can come with a touch of trepidation. But the buildable warmth of this collection skilfully put together allows for all to wear shimmer and colour.
In an exclusive chat with .Cent she told us it’s a real return to colour
“In my mind, I wanted to bring colour and vibrancy to this collection”
Ammy Drammeh
Her star product is the pencil set. Vibrant and different so consumers are comfortable with colour and shimmer via their buildability, but also their duo use. The pencil is chunky to use as a shadow (or even as a touch of shimmer on lips, she told us) but the product has a sharpener at the end so it can be taken down to point and used as a liner.
This stunningly beautiful Spanish Gambian artist is passionate about complexion. She explained how she enjoys adding extensions on products that are super useful for all skin complexions. She also refutes the idea that colour is only for some
“There is no such thing as the wrong colour it’s just how you use it”
Ammy Drammeh
She talked of thinking about make-up as an accessory.
“So think of the iconic Chanel little black dress, and think about how you accessorise it to make it your own, for me this collection is how your accessories using Chanel Makeup”

On top of all that news, Cécile Paravina and Valentina Li, two of the other makeup artists of the Comètes Collective, have designed the Chanel Makeup Takeaways, two exclusive “to-go” sets that come in unique new pouches. Playfully combining dazzling colours and a variety of finishes, they offer looks ranging from natural to bold.
Cécile Paravina designed The City Break set. Parisian by choice, she drew inspiration from snack breaks and the respite they provide from the hustle and bustle of the city to create a bright and colourful makeup look, composed of one Ombre Premiere Laque eyeshadow, two Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue lipsticks and one Le Vernis nail polish in limited-edition, gourmet-inspired shades.
An irresistible, vibrantly coloured makeup pouch, whose shape is inspired by a lunch bag, was specifically designed to take this set along with you on all of your city getaways. The complete set is presented in an exclusive gift bag that matches its colours.
Valentina Li designed The Nature Getaway set. An ode to nature, expressed as four products in vibrant, refreshing colours: one Ombre Essentiel eyeshadow, one Baum Essentiel highlighting balm, one Le Liner De Chanel eyeliner and one Rouge CoCo Flash lip colour, for a makeup look inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s leisurely walks in the woods.
A limited-edition, coral-coloured pouch made to look like a book, recalling herbaria manuals and other botanical works, allows you to take the makeup assortment along on your strolls. The complete set is presented in an exclusive gift bag that has been redesigned to match its colours.
The Jardin Imaginaire collection is an elegant, fresh and vibrant collection rich in varied shades and imaginative nuances, reflecting the delights of summer back at us.
