Nude is big! This lipstick colour has come a very long way in recent years. Brands tended to carry a wider selection of reds than the colour they referred to as ‘nude’, it was a case of ’one shade fits all’, take it or leave it, and for those with a complexion darker than Kate Moss; they had to leave it. On shoots I often mixed a colour together with foundation to create a matching flesh tone.

Make-up brands are now investing in these pigments to service a large spectrum of skin colours and shades. There are; pink nudes; peach nudes; brown nudes; beige nudes; even grey nudes, it’s a welcome move … Julie Jacobs
