Bold: Vintage by the Sea at the Midland
By Pascal Ebner
The Vintage Festival invites everyone to Morecambe to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the iconic Midland Hotel, which opened its doors in July 1933 for the very first time. Vintage sets out to present the best of British music, fashion, film, art and design.
With its rich heritage the Midland Hotel is the perfect spot for the upcoming Vintage Festival. The majestic building was designed by Oliver Hill and harbored celebrities such as Sir Laurence Olivier, Noel Coward and Coco Chanel. On 14 September the Midland will be even richer in leisure and excitement with Vintage’s great day events (from 11am on).
Snowboy presents “The Torch Club”: From 7.30pm to midnight guests can go back in time and enjoy entertainment from the 1930s and 1940s and turn the Midland into an unforgettable dance floor. Tickets can be booked via telephone on 01524 428000.
Vintage by the Sea: In two sittings visitors can experience an authentic and elegant 1930s Afternoon Tea Dance – showcasing only the best of the bygone era. To book tickets call 01524 428000 for 12.30pm – 2pm or 2.30pm – 4pm.
To make sure guests are accordingly dressed and styled, visitors are provided with hair & beauty makeovers themed from the 1920s to the 1940s. A great vintage hair styling will be £14, while the beauty makeover will cost £10.
With expert teachers on site dancing fans are able to attend professional dance lessons and demonstrate their newly acquired Foxtrot, Charleston, Jive and Waltz skills! Throughout the whole festival classic ice cream vans and vintage street food make sure that everyone is at his or her best.
