Veganism has become far more embraced by many in the past few years. It is of course more than just a dietary choice, it is a lifestyle that crosses all aspects of life. From the kitchen cupboard to homewares and of course the wardrobe. One of the most well known supporters of non animal skin in fashion is Stella McCartney, and she has taken this a step forward by collaborating with Stan Smith with the launch of #STANSMITH a vegan approach to footwear.

The collection boast of a leather-free and suitable for vegans collection that doesn’t sacrifice anything when it comes to style. Taking a combination of McCartney’s signature stars and embossing these details into the design of the shoe. As well as seeing traditional design details that are a signature in the Adidas legacy, of course, there are the three stripes, but also on the tongue of the shoe, you can find portraits of each of the designer, Smith of the right and McCartney on the left.

The #StanSmith collection is another addition to Stella McCartney’s even growing cruelty-free range. This also includes the Loo, ‘a new innovative and sustainable sneaker with specially designed hooks instead of glue, and the Eclypse, the brand’s first fashion trainer characterised by a sculptural and pumped-up shape.’

To celebrate the collection a launch party in the heart of fashion week was revealed, this added and highlighted to Stella McCartney’s recent sneaker category focused campaign, #StellaSneakerWeeK which includes activations in-store and social media.

‘As part of the celebration, Stella McCartney commissioned 6 artists to customise 23 limited edition vegan sneakers including the Loop and the Eclypse styles. The sneakers will be available exclusively at 23 Old Bond Street from the 17th of September and proceeds from the sales will be benefit charities chosen by each artist.’
