Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, this hybrid combines soft pink with lilac resulting in a seamless, soft-focus and multidimensional colour. Shiseido 7 Lights Powder Illuminator, A powder compact that I use each colour separately.
The holistic effect cosmetics – makeup or skincare – can have on one inner being still amazes me because when my external looks it’s optimum my inner emotions are lifted. For some, it may be the application of mascara or lipstick but for me it’s blusher. Don’t get me wrong; lipstick I LOVE, but it’s the splash of rouge that brings life to my skin.
Clarins Glow 2 Go, this highly pigmented, long-wearing stick, contours, sculpts and highlights all in one go. Suqqu Tsubomizaki Pure Colour Blush, the superfine texture is the best! Swirl both colours together, or use separately for a wash or pop of colour. Dior Backstage Glow Pallette, multi-use illuminating makeup palette for highlighting and blush of colour.
I shied away from personally wearing blush for many years, I was hesitant in overloading my face with colour. But, as a Makeup Artist; if my doppelgänger were to sit in front of me I would apply it on her without hesitation. I first wore blusher about fifteen years ago and at that very moment I noticed how my complexion came alive. I looked ‘well’ and felt good. Now, add a highlighter on top of your cheek and brow bones and WOW! You’ve not only brought your complexion to life but your features also.
NARS blush & Light Sculpting Highlighting Powder ICONIC! … and I’m not being dramatic. Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc Reflects Light. Illuminates Skin. Healthy-Glowing finish…this does it all.
Blusher/highlighter compacts are a beauty to behold, I often feel sad to disturb a new untouched palette. Sometimes the colour combinations may look a little odd together but one thing I strongly advise is to trust the pairing that the brand has invested hours in creating. They’ve researched how these two pigments work and compliment each other on various complexions.
