A is for Accessory, B is for Bag, Love the Fashion Alphabet
By Rebecca McNelly-Tilford
August’s theme is Metaphor, exploring designs that highlight clashing fabrics, textures, colours and prints. As well as looking into designs that are morphed and unusual that create overall unique pieces.
This mini fashion piece explores accessories from the Autumn Winter 24 collections.
Starting a more subtle and wearable implement to this trend are designs from Roberto Cavalli, Kurt Geiger and Miu Miu, whose designs use a combination of clashing colours and patterns to portray a bold but classy vision of this trend.
Other brands like Valentino Garavani and Chloé have taken a simple yet elegant design and added a twist by transforming the bag into a bangle. Morphing it into something unique.
Taking Metaphor into a more abstract way, Chloé, Proenza Schouler and Off-White create accessories that take inspiration from intimate objects like a block of ice, a banana and a basketball.
When it comes to jewellery and accessories, it’s more about contrasting colours, patterns and shapes. A small, simple but bold way to inject a little contrast into every outfit. Tatty Devine and Annele use bold colours in unusual shapes to create distinctive jewellery pieces. Burgas‘ cases are a perfect example of using patterns to add little details to create this singular vision. Mejuri jewellery pieces are more on the effortless side with straightforward yet elegant designs.
This contrast of colour, shape and texture flows from head to toe, with examples from Kurt Geiger and Off-White. All of these brands are designs showcased and displayed in a smooth way and final way to add this theme into your everyday wardrobe.
