The capsule presents two distinct bags, a crossbody and a spacious tote. This collection establishes new benchmarks, crafted from the groundbreaking MIRUM® a plant-based, plastic-free material that combines luxury with high performance, further aligning with the Maison’s commitment to sustainability.
Available in three shades: moss, clay, and saddle brown, each bag features a subtle, tone-on-tone stitched Karl signature, adding a layer of distinct KARL LAGERFELD flair to this collection.
“I’m beyond excited about our latest capsule. It embodies elegance and timelessness, all the while featuring a truly modern material purposefully circular in nature and entirely free from plastics. Navigating the path to these creations wasn’t easy, but the collective passion and commitment at Maison KARL LAGERFELD made these exquisite, more sustainable accessories a reality. This is a milestone worth celebrating!”

Working with MIRUM® was an intentional decision to blend style while minimizing the environmental impact by deliberately avoiding the use of PU (polyurethane), a common synthetic material used as an alternative to leather in accessories and bag production.
MIRUM® is a plastic-free alternative to leather, a low-carbon, biobased, tunable material for creative expression. It is durable and is coloured uniquely with plant and mineral pigments. It can incorporate varied natural filler ingredients for a huge range of tones, shine, texture, grain, thickness and fragrance. All this makes it the perfect green material for bags. entirely free from fossil fuels and is made from responsibly harvested natural rubber and plant-based oils.
Also, it is distinguished by its lack of petrochemical-derived carbon, so it is designed for a circular life cycle, allowing it to be recycled or to naturally decompose.
Building on the success of the previous KARL LAGERFELD x AMBER VALLETTA collections (2021-2023), this Pre-Fall 2024 capsule elevates the standard for a more sustainable fashion choice. A handbag may seem just like a trend choice but what we hang off our shoulders or cross our bodies is far more than that. It is our opportunity to say NO. It is, in fact, a moment to support those companies and designers who choose to act responsibly, who choose to put something back and who continuously look to progress our green alternatives so that our beautiful world can keep going.
