Michelle Thompson
By Jo Phillips
Michelle Thompson is an illustrator living in London. She contributed to The ‘Seeing Stories Telling Pictures’ Issue of .Cent, guest-edited by Minnie Weisz.
Michelle is featured in .Cent’s Breaking Boundaries newsletter in February 2013, which took inspiration from the Rado DIASTAR – the first scratch-resistant watch. For the newsletter, .Cent asks her ‘If imagination leads the way, where do you go with yours?’
She answers, ‘I get so excited about old magazines, books and family albums. We have some great local junk/antique shops in Saffron Walden where I live in, so for inspiration I go shopping! I then come home and cut all the inspiration up. Sometimes I work on collage pieces straight away, other times I can have a scrap of paper for 10 years just waiting for the perfect brief.’
