Elie Saab Elixir Love; Floral at its Heart

In the world of perfumery, it’s quite often about some new note that science has managed to find, or even create. Once a new note comes to market expect a plethora of scents that include this latest opus. But floral notes are always in perfumes and sometimes looked at as slightly old fashioned yet their scents will endure forever, Let’s celebrate here a handful of the most majestic of them, here in Elie Saab Elixir Love; Floral at its Heart

If there were a list of the most impressive flowers used in perfumery, say a list from one to ten, it most likely would start with Roses, followed by Jasime, and then potentially Orange Blossom. If that is the case then we can celebrate all these notes and how they are supported and exulted in the new fragrance from Elie Saab, Elixir Love, with its celebration of these powerhouses of florals.

The newest perfume in his collection has been created by two noses. Firstly, Aurelien Guichard from near Grasse France, who carries on the tradition of the seven generations of perfumers who came before him, and a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Leonardo Lucheze; working with ingredients of the company Takasago.

So how does this bright and vibrant fragrance smell and what notes bring a sense of completion? So it opens with a burst of fruity floral, with juicy Cherry and Rose via the Damask Rose which is headier and richer, than its cousin the Rose De Mai.

The scent dives into a bouquet of the most regal florals in the world of perfumery, the head and sweet spice of Jasmine, rich Rose and the soft honeyed florals of Neroli.

And then wrap it up; a warm woody base with notes of earthy, woody, and damp scent with hints of musk and amber via Oakmoss, and its earthy sister Patchouli with the velvety warm, woody, leather, and spicy facet of Ambroxan.

Yet the key to this fragrance is a ‘Love Accord’ created for Elie Saab that blends neuroscience with perfume to trigger the sensory receptors in the brain, making this a true love potion.
