Alexander Wang
By Jo Phillips
Alexander Wang was inspired by the idea of transportation for his latest menswear show. The garments had a strong urban emphasis and, as usual, his innovations and manipulation of fabric. Wang, a fan of great outwear, presented coats in mesh and nylon, suede, a waterproof resin-coated cotton, and a shiny satin. Some coats, designed in glazed raffia, tweed, and foam-injected fabric, resembled tire treads. Under the coats were slim utility pants, long shorts, tie-dye printed knits, and sweater-shirts.
