Burberry

By Jo Phillips

For this collection, Burberry’s Christopher Bailey was inspired by the nomadic way of life. Bruce Chatwin, the writer, traveller, and adventurer was Bailey’s choice for muse. ”He was completely British, but he struggled to stay in one place,” Bailey reflected on Chatwin. It makes sense then, that the pieces that were showcased are fit for traveling, such as the denim jackets with large pockets that can fit notebooks, big slouchy satchels and floppy hats, and t-shrits printed in vintage motifs as if brought from flee markets. Themes were expressed explicitly when Bailey wrote “Adventure” and “Exploration” on some of the garments. “The world is changing so quickly that it’s even more important to reflect on history and heritage,” said Bailey.Burberry
