Creed Ratio; The Father, The Son

By Jo Phillips

One of the greatest successes in recent niche perfume history is the magnificent Aventus by the house of creed
A standout men’s scent that is the absolute star for the brand. Aventus is inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor who waged war, peace and romance with equal magnitude.

It opens with top notes of blackcurrant and Italian bergamot, blended with Calville Blanc apples and sparkling pineapple. A woody and heady centre is complemented with notes of roses, Jasmine blossom, and patchouli, while a rich base of oakmoss, ambergris and a touch of vanilla provide a final flourish to this sophisticated scent.

As a Celebration of the fragrance the company has created it’s younger wilder brother Creed Adventus cologne. An EDP in make-up, its a celebration of the ideals of cologne but still as the strength of a full-strength perfume.  Cologne traditionally is the lightest form of fragrance with the smallest percentage of perfume oils and usually citrus bright fresh scents.  However, this is cologne inspired, as suggested by its name.

Described by Creed as a ‘ daring and very much an urban spirted fragrance’ it is like the slightly naughty younger brother to the sexy suave grown up Aventus original.  Starting with a fresh hit bursting at the top with Ginger all fizzy and alive with mandarin and pink peppercorn giving a shot of vitality to start with.  In the heart find the patchouli sandalwood and vetiver giving its warm and sensuous heart.  It finally settles onto a leathery balsamic woody base of  Styrex, Birch, Musk and Tonka bean

Aventus Cologne the universal scent builds on its predecessor’s woody attitude and is perfect complementary its acclaimed forerunner, Aventus. Like all Creed fragrances, this is manufactured using essences the house creates for itself which gives it a stand out uniqueness in a world of niche fragrances

The House of Creed was founded in London in 1760, and remains the world’s only family-owned luxury fragrance company that’s served royal houses as well as the public at large for over 250 years. They’re the only fragrance house that still uses a 4,000-year old infusion process that’s truly able to capture and distill the essence of a fragrance and its ingredients.

A rebellious modern twist, Aventus Cologne embodies vitality, success, true grit and style. Out in June but ready to pre-order until May 31st on its website
