Diamond Bright

How exciting is it that you are ready to buy an engagement ring for someone you love? Being in that position means that you have decided that this person you love is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Proposing is a huge statement, and in any relationship, it takes a lot of commitment to know that you are in the right space for it. The biggest question is which ring you should get – and this is the fun.

You can learn all about the history of Tiffany & co while you peruse the rings and the other jewellery, but it would help to know what you are looking for. A ring is an expensive investment, but cost means nothing when you know you’re getting the ring of their dreams. So, let’s take a look at six tips for choosing that perfect engagement ring.

The shape of the engagement ring isn’t about the band, but the diamond and the jewels on top. The shape can be traditional and round cut, oval, princess, pear or emerald. Looking at the shape first will be the best thing you can do, and you can ask the Tiffany experts to talk you through the most desirable shapes and the ones that offer the most aesthetic look. They’ll talk you through how each shape will complement the diamond or jewel of choice, and just remember that the shapes and cut are priced differently.

The C’s. There are four special C’s with your engagement purchase: cut, colour, clarity and carat. This is the system used to grade the quality of the diamond and figure out the price. Any excellent jeweller will be able to talk you through each of these for the rings that catch your eye.

Going Bespoke. Sometimes, getting a ring that is one-of-a-kind is the best thing that you can do to show your love to someone. This will be a ring that’s designed specifically to suit your partner, and you will find that a bespoke ring is truly one of a kind and no one else will have one like it.

Getting Measured. Buying a ring without the person you’re buying it for can often be a challenge, but you can get around it! Make sure that you slip a piece of string or cotton around the right finger while your loved one sleeps, and you can get a measurement this way. Take the cotton to the jeweller and use this as a guide. you don’t want to get one that is too big and will fall off, and you don’t want to get one that’s too small and won’t slip on beautifully.

Certified Stones. When you choose a ring, make sure that the stone inside it is certified by an independent laboratory. You won’t find any duds at Tiffanys, of course, but you can really be had if you go somewhere new! Get Insured. You should insure the engagement ring that you buy. This can then cover you for any chips or breaks and it may even cover you for losses.
