How To Find And Use The Perfect Foundation For Your Skin Tone?

By Jo Phillips

Many people use a makeup foundation when creating makeup. But what is it? How to use it and how to choose such a tool? A foundation is a product that is applied to the skin before creating makeup and is designed to even out the surface and make the color more natural. Foundation creates the proper canvas for the rest of your makeup, whether you are going to wear natural, neutral, or party makeup. Even if you aren’t going to a party or a luxurious casino venue (we’ll, many people prefer the best National Casino instead!), light natural makeup also needs the right foundation.

The main components of all bases are pigments and silicone. Pigments eliminate color imperfections and mask small spots. And silicone is necessary for equalization. It fills in the irregularities and makes the surface almost perfect.  However, the composition includes other components that depend on the purpose of the means. This may be some matting or moisturizing components, plant extracts, vitamins, and so on.

However, foundations have several disadvantages. So, they greatly weigh down the makeup. In the heat, the face can sweat a lot, because the silicone in the base will create a film that does not allow air to pass. And because of this can start serious problems. And in severe frosts because of the same silicone can even get frostbite. In addition, serious flaws (significant irregularities or large pimples) will not be disguised.

Before learning how to choose a base, find out what types of such products can be. Normally, you apply common foundations on your face to eliminate imperfections and prepare the skin for the makeup. In turn, such products can be different, it all depends on the purpose:

  1. Leveling foundations under makeup is necessary for those who already have the first wrinkles. The components of the product will fill the depressions, making the surface smooth, which will improve the appearance of the face.
  2. Corrective foundations will help you to correct skin imperfections. They can have different shades. But if you see, for example, a green base, it does not mean that after application your face will become green, making you look like a frog. All shades are compared to the color of the skin, but at the same time allow you to correct imperfections. So, white color helps to lighten the face a little and give it a freshness. Pink shades are needed for those whose skin tone is close to gray (yes, and it happens). Once applied, the face will become beautifully porcelain-like. Yellow color helps to eliminate blueness, which is necessary if there are obvious bruises under the eyes. A green base will get rid of redness, such as small pimples or traces of a long tan. Lilac base will help to eliminate the yellowness of the skin. Blue also helps to correct yellowness and camouflage the effects of a bad experience with self-tanning products.
  3. A moisturizing foundation will contain nutrients that hydrate the skin. This is essential for those whose skin is dry (makeup can dry it out even more).

If you have to stay in the sun for a long time, you should give preference to bases that have sun protection properties. Such products will help protect your skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.

Some means contain unique light-reflecting particles that allow you to make the skin shiny, and pearlescent. But defects such as a base will not mask.

Matting base for makeup contains particles that will eliminate excessive oily skin and hide enlarged pores.

What is the best base? It’s up to you to decide. But be sure to take into account your skin type and your skin tone. It is better to apply the product with your hands, carefully smearing it over the entire surface with the pads of your fingers. It is worth waiting a few minutes for the base to be absorbed. Good luck with your choice!
