‘Mutation’ is the title of French photographer Stéphane Couturier’s first solo exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton Hong Kong. Viewing global cities like Hong Kong as living organisms, the artist captures contemporary cities’ momentum, growth, transformation and the modern logic of flux. The latest series of photographs and videos examine the limitations of art, architecture and fashion. In the above image entitled ‘Barcelone – Parallel no.1’ (2008), 2 disparate photographs of Avenue Parallel in Barcelona were ‘melted’ into one, reflecting the dynamic ‘teenage’ spirit of the urban landscape that refuses to settle down for absolutely anything, but rather continues to change, change, change…

The “Mutation” exhibition opened 21 March 2013 and continues until August 2013.
