Power; Oiled Up

By Alicia Phanwar

The use of perfume oils dates far back in history. From Ancient Egyptians to Christianity,  perfume oils have been used for many purposes. Whether it be to exude luxury and status or for religious purposes, perfume oils have played an essential role in life from sexuality,  funerals and religious ceremonies.

In 2007, the world’s oldest perfume factory was discovered in Cyprus and it is believed that this was the factory that supplied temples and worshippers with scents to bring them closer to the gods they revered. Essential oils have also been a core element of the Indian Ayurvedic health care system; a natural healing system blending spiritual, philosophical and practical elements.

In more recent centuries, Eau de Parfums and Eau de Toilettes are the preferred choices for many, however, the popularity of fragrance oils is rising again. Their compact size, lingering scent and gentleness on the skin makes for a pocket-sized perfume that is convenient for the fast-paced life. The alcohol-free nature of perfume oils allows the skin to hold on to a scent well and has a lot fewer chemicals,  and therefore suitable for sensitive skin types or those allergic to alcohol in perfumes. In celebration of the re-birth of perfume oils and solid cream here at .Cent team, we provided a little insider vision:

Shot one Mystic Essence Oils Collection: Atkinsons new collection now contains luxurious oils: Oud Save the King, Oud Save the Queen, Triple Extract, and Rose In Wonderland. Jo by Jo Loves – A Fragrance Paintbrush Another innovation to fragrance and perfume oils, the popular brand Jo Loves has released what they call “a fragrance paintbrush”. Based on a gel rather than an oil formula, this fresh and full-bodied fragrance has sparkling notes of Grapefruit, Bitter Orange, Lime and Spearmint on a base of powerful Guaiac Wood, Cedarwood and Vetiver with a lingering finish of Hedione and Black Pepper.

Shot Three Ostens – Preparation Jasmine Absolute A fragrance oil in its purest form, this perfume’s origin is straight from Egypt. The highest legal concentration of Jasmine Absolute oil (harvested by LMR in Egypt) is blended in their proprietary silky-smooth dry oil formulation. This enables the intoxicating notes of the Jasmine to develop on our skin, creating a scent of its own. You can also use this unique product to layer with perfumes you may already own: it will add intensity and sensuality to white Florals and Citrussy scents. And just so you know this is probably the nicest purest jasmine you will ever smell so even if you don’t wish to wear it always it’s divine to carry this little bottle of greatness around just for the odd sniff to lift your spirits.
