Winter Warmers

By Jo Phillips

That winter chill is here, the feeling when cold literally bites and manages somehow to work its way through every layer of knitwear till it reaches to chill our bones.  Yes those damp cold winter days have set in.  So outside of wearing copious layers is there a way we can literally warm up from the inside out? Well one way of surviving the bitter days to come is to have a seasonal spa treatment that warms not just the body but through to your very soul.

Modderhsall Oaks lies in a lush green countryside setting. The building, made of bricks and  scattered with wooden A frames, creates an immediate relaxing warmth and homeliness alongside its elegant and modern decor.  Each season the team create seasonal treatments to deal with the bodies need to acclimatise to whatever adverses the season has to offer. From October onwards  the spa is offering four tailored limited edition treatments:-

PUMPKIN SALTED BODY SCRUB

Rich aromas, fiery spices & spiced pumpkin combine for an anti-oxidizing & moisturising body treatment.  The team will first wipe your feet with a relaxing towel to ready the body for the treatment.  Next the body is brushed with a natural brush to remove the first layer of dead skin and make the skin ready for the salt scrub.  The scrub has the added pumpkin that gives a christmas tinge that wafts around the room and adds to the relaxing environment. Then comes the body scrub, which, although a little rough at first, ultimately clears the stubborn skin.  The body is then softened with oil.  The team then prepare a shower  but advise using no soaps so that the aforementioned body oil seeps into the fresh clean layers of skin.

SHIMMERING GOLD BACK TREAT

As with the Pumpkin salted body scrub, this starts with the relaxing towel wipe over the feet and then a body brush.  Then the body is given a light pressure massage using the  gold cane sugar exfoliation to the back of the body.  The feeling initially is a quite solid/sticky; the oil melts into the skin as the therapist glides their hands over the back.  The massage allows for great relaxation and leaves the back with a subtle yet golden glow.

GINGER, SWEET ORANGE & COCOA BEAN WRAP

A spicy, stimulating & energising herbal wrap stuffed with anti-oxidants and fragrant star anise.

Moddershall Oaks is a wonderful spa destination set within 72 acres of picturesque Staffordshire countryside. Its destination makes it ideal for those who wish to travel up from London or is a short trip for those based in the Midlands yet not far either for those based in the Northern parts of the UK, and still manages to  it also  an international crowd.  The spa features many wonderful attractions for those that don’t necessarily want just a specific treatment.
