Woven; Sublime Scents by Les Senteurs
By Sophie Field
Acclaimed Fragrance perfumery Les Senteurs, (one of the original homes of niche fragance) has now released a new set of perfumes, recreating, within scent, stories of love, lust, history and memory.
LES BAINS GUERBOIS:
Les Bains Guerbois began in the 19th century as a spa, then turned nightclub, then a hotel in a series of evolutions leading to its’ re-incarnation as a brand and global house of Fragrance, launching in 2016 its signature cologne.
1978 Les Bains Douches is powdery hedonism, a nightclub hit of Negroni Yuzu, Whisky Sage and tobacco, laced together with myrrh, vanilla, patchouli and oriental rose.
1885 Bains Sulfureux, utilizes the incredibly sensual and meditative floral smells of Turkish and Russian Baths: Bergamot, Jasmine, Rosemary and Mandarin and combines then with tolu, labdanum, tonka beans, Benzoin, incense and musk to recreate a ritualistic instant.
2015 Le Phenix, true to its’ name, creates in its ensnaring circles of cardamom and ginger, patchouli and cedarwood, incense and amber the fiery and remarkable wings of the bird of rebirth.
2013 Residences d’Artistes mixes musk, sandalwood, papyrus, violet, cumin, cardamom and mandarin in a zesty, heavy, lingering and mysterious moment.
PARLE MOI DE PARFUM
Next, is Benjamin Almairac’s new collection: Parle Moi De Parfum, looking at the story of the perfume itself. We explore two new fragrances, with special essential essences that set them apart in mind and time:
Orris Tattoo/ 29: is an explosive celebration of one of Perfume’s rarest and most incredible scents: iris, tattooing the scent to one’s body in an invisible marking and lingering sensation.
Chypre Mojo/ 45: In a sensuous display of mysterious and eventful Chypre, Chypre Mojo really puts the mojo into this fragrance. Using bergamot, carnation, mango and patchouli accord, its sensuous nature is enhanced tenfold.
ATELIER DES ORS
Next, Atelier des Ors brings us on a journey in search of happiness, both collective and individual, in three beautiful scents:
Nuda Veritas, or Naked Truth, is the beginning of this journey. The fairy-tale pages unfold, with top notes of exciting bergamot and neroli. The scrolling lettering next introduces middle notes of Osmanthus, champaca, jasmine and tiare bloom, all falling into base notes of patchouli, ambroxyan, spicy marigolds and moss in a beautiful illustration.
We Then turn the pages to Crépuscule des Âmes -Twilight of the Souls- presenting an ephemeral moment, the midnight hour, a moment of change, a climax. The moment in-between. Mandarin, cardamom and clary sage give way to middle notes of hyssop, pimento and incense, all layering atop Patchouli and honeyed hycraceum.
Finally, in our much awaited crescendo and ending scent, in the form of Choeur des Anges, A choir of Angels, honeyed scents of blood orange, orange blossom, black currant, pear, cedrat and amber and Osmanthus come together in a beautiful and powerful melody of pure joy; the final kiss; The End.
WHITE COLLECTION
Also available is the new scent from Amouage Love Tuberose. This floral embodiment of sweet femininity. Gardenia, tuberose and jasmine gently bring light to a heavy heart of vanilla and Chantilly cream that with Cedarwood and sandalwood, remain in our hearts and minds long after the first spritz!
Altaia Purple Land, a purple land of love, uses guava and papaya as well as Ethiopian frangipani flower in a rare exploration of zesty and heavy florals.
Mona De Orio Santal Nabataea is a heavy and interesting scent that sprinkles Black pepper, blackcurrant leaves and dried apricots over a heart of Oleander trees. The base of Sandalwood and coffee is homely, earthy and gritty. We can almost feel the clay-like terracotta of the sandstone of Petra beneath our feet.
Whilst we are filling you fragrance fans on new releases we must just let you know of another new launch:-
