Brazen: Art Despite Disability

The Shape Open proves that a disability is not an obstacle for making art. The annual call-out for disabled and non-disabled artists to submit work in a response to a disability focused theme will showcase a selection of paintings, sculpture, textile, digital art and photography.

With this year’s theme “Disability Re-Assesed”, The Shape Open provides a great platform for disabled artists to show their work, develop their careers and get recognition in the art industry. The often deeply personal and highly political theme encouraged artists to speak with a lot of opinions and voices – uniting theme is a commitment to re-interpret and re-asses disability.

Breaking barriers and helping the artists to speak to the general public, the initiative is definitely worth spreading and supporting.
