Brow Made

By Julie Jacobs

As a Makeup Artist, I tend to go through fazes of using a particular type of product.  Once upon a time I only ever used tinted brow balms – tiny glass pots of pigmented wax. And, if I really think about it I don’t know why I veered away from them. However, now that they’re back on my radar I’ve realised ‘oh how I missed them’.  Read more about the versatility and tips and tricks of brow balms here.

Chanel la Palette Sourcils Brow Wax and Brow Powder Duo With added powder you can achieve deeper depth and intensity.

There’s no rhyme or reason behind this behaviour, I simply follow my instincts and stick with it for a while. So, as I’m now back using pomades it leaves me with that cosy feeling of reuniting with a long lost ‘trusted’ friend.

Anastasia DIPBROW® Pomade is a go to if a large selection of shades is what you need. Armani Eye & Brow Maestro In twenty-five years of applying makeup, Armani no.4 Ambre is THE BEST colour for redheads I have come ever used.

KVD Beauty Super Pomade Vegan Eyeliner, Shadow & Brow Pigment A multi purpose pomade.

Balms are more versatile than one thinks helped by using the recommended slanted brushes. They’re perfect for drawing individual hair strokes – think of it as your very own ‘temporary’ micro-blading.  And for soft feathered brows simply spread a tiny amount across a new or old cleaned bristled mascara wand. Then stroke back and forth across your brows to coat the hairs then brush into shape. This method is for those who simply desire a fuller looking feathered eyebrow without correction.

Benefit ka-BROW! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour. A creamy gel so it’s lighter and more transparent than waxes. And as my Editor, Jo noted, ‘it’s small and perfect to carry in my handbag’.

Benefit Brow Zings Pro Palette This palette lives in my kit … think that says it all!

BBBLondon Brow Sculpting Pomade The go to brand in all things pertaining to the eye area. Their brushes are nifty too.

And here you have it, the best of both worlds. Soft and feathered or sharp and accurate in one tiny pot.
