Once upon a time there lived a handsome French poet/singer/songwriter called Serge Gainsbourg, and a stunning British actress called Jane Birkin. It was the late sixties, and on a film set called Slogan, they did meet.
A fiery and passionate courtship ensued between the unlikely duo, whilst the creative pair produced hit records that both the Vatican and BBC deplored as well as a stunning and talented daughter who is adored. Though their relationship lasted 12 years, we the general public remain fascinated by their romantic liaison some 30 years later.
So its with extreme delight that we find a world exclusive exhibition at the Proud Galleries in Chelsea, dedicated especially to our creative amores with an intimate and gently nostalgic select of images taken by Jane’s brother, photographer Andrew Birkin.
Our romantic interlude will be ending on 26th October 2014, so make sure you swing down to the exhibit before this happy story ends.
