If you routinely perform the hair care tips that will be discussed here you will be well on your way to banishing bad hair days.

Wash Regularly with Chemical-free Shampoos

Washing your hair regularly is one of the best ways to ensure that your scalp and hair are free of dirt and any excess oil that may accumulate on the scalp. The number of times that you should wash your hair per week is dependent on your hair type.

If you have dry hair then it is best to wash your hair at least twice per week. Oily scalp may need a bit more attention so you can wash it every other day.

Make sure that you use chemical-free shampoos whenever you wash your hair. Look out for shampoos that contain parabens and sulfates and try to avoid them. These ingredients can cause irritation to your scalp.

Conditioning Your Hair Correctly

Conditioning is what keeps the moisture in your hair and prevents hair from breaking. Conditioners protect your hair from environmental hazards and from heat styling.

Never apply your conditioner to your scalp. It should only be applied to the tip of your hair. Make sure that you wash it off thoroughly after you have applied it to avoid residue buildup.

Resist Chemicals

Dying and perming the hair will affect your hair follicles and can cause hair shedding. These chemicals have caused severe hair damage in many people’s hair and some have even ended up having to do a hair transplant abroad to remedy the situation.

If you must use these treatments try to use them sparingly or use products that have natural ingredients in them to prevent your hair from falling.

Use a Wide-Tooth Comb

Whenever you have finished washing your hair, it is best to use a wide-tooth comb to detangle it. This is because when your hair is wet it is at its most fragile and can easily break.

A wide-tooth comb is specially designed to ensure that snags are taken out of your hair without causing damage.

Water and Your Hair

Avoid washing your hair in hot water since this will strip the hair of all the natural oils. It will leave your scalp flaky and dry. The best type of water to wash your hair in is semi-cold or cold water.

Remember, that whenever you go to the beach or swim in a pool you should wash your hair immediately. This is because saltwater and chlorinated water damages the hair cuticle, cause the hair to tangle, and irritates the scalp.

Take Care of Your Hair

Taking care of your hair is the key to ensuring that it looks radiant. Bad hair days will become fewer or non-existent once you are consistent in how you care for your hair.

When your hair looks good, you not only look good, but you will feel good as well. As long as you use the tips given here your hair will stay healthy.
